These are prototypes from early in a development cycle. They weren’t widely distributed and would only have limited information. Even the users likely didn’t know which they were. It is possible neither actually made it to market. Very early club or ball testers tend to be local to a facility. Finding these near Acushnet makes sense.

Found this post on the internet. Never said which ball it was. But did give the year the test was done.

I got 6 Saturday. These are different than the test balls that I get in the fall. I got the PV1X in the fall to test. These balls have no markings, brand etc. except for a very faint triangle on the one sleeve and a similar square on the other. The note included with the balls asked to compare the two and note any differences, likes or dislikes. It's really a bad time for me to get the weather to play. I was able to get 18 in yesterday, but very hard to tell much difference given course conditions and my rusty swing. The weather forecast has snow for the next seven days. I guess much of my survey responses are going to be from some indoor putting. I'm not complaining, anytime you get free golf balls in the mail, it's a good day. Thanks Titleist!!!!
