When you say “most golfers” I guess you mean “you”. I am not aware of surveys that have come my way with a question of shinny verses matte but I do know I almost throw up when I see a matte car at a red light. I for one am a traditionalist and want to stick with the glossy clubs. I guess anyone wanting matte can always use some sandpaper. Just my opinion as I will not speak for the other “most golfers”. I prefer the gloss finish. Only one driver out of the last 5 I have played has NOT been gloss finish. And it was white matte finish. I never really liked the way that driver looked.

Titleist actually puts a lot of research into the club's appearance.

Titleist has been using a gloss finish on their metalwoods for as long as I can remember.

I'll stick with gloss thank you. As has mentioned, the cosmetics are the club are researched and evaluated endlessly by club designers. Clearly more players are asking for the gloss finish.

I much prefer a gloss finish over a matte finish. I have once tried putting satin car paint protection film over on the crown to make it less glossy in the summer and it worked really well so you could look into that

Sure, if you want to further drive the cost up? Stock gloss finish vs. matte, I'd be curious to know the difference. To be honest with you, it's not rocket science to re-coat a metal wood, we do it all the time. Same with stamping/coloring, just takes a little effort.

You can include me on the list of folks that like the Driver timeless produces just the way it is, looks wise.

I do like the glossy finish, I am a big fan of shiny clubs.

Traditional Titleist’s drivers are glossy, and for me it is a good think.
I love the black glossy color. Sometimes in past Titleist made dark gray finish but I definitely prefer black.
It is a personal think.

Never given it much thought. Do like the look of Titleist drivers/fairways/hybrids over other brands I have seen. Matte looks kinds used and worn out. What concerns me more is how they perform. The new GTs are the real deal. I always wear prescription sunglasses when I play, they helps cut down on the shine, and I blind as a bat. Casting stones, as ZZ Top sang, Cheap sunglasses. People who live in glass houses should not "cast stones". With respect. =)
