I guess it is about feel and having the right shaft. AT 79, I always go to my fitter to find the right combinations of shaft and head. I go by the numbers and work with what those. I might adjust a degree. But what I am playing with worked for me in managing my game. I play a mixed bag of TSRs and GTs. GT2 10.75 driver, GT2 14,25 fairway, TSR1 18.0 fairway, TSR1 21.0 hybrid, GT3 24.0 hybrid, then 6-48 T350 irons. Matching shafts, Mitsubishi Tensei 1K Blue Regular Flex, Driver (55HY) Fairways (65HY) Hybrids (75HY). I liked the height I got with my TSRs at those distances. Was learning to work the GT a little more. But am down right now until around April. See how they play out when I return after a few tune up lessons. I have to trust my fitter. He seems to know my game better than I do. He told me one time to go get well and come back and see him. Not many fitters are that honest.
