S4 Players Tee time

Picked up the Players S4 Tee Time bag recently and honestly… this thing surprised me.

First off, the look. It’s super clean. That green and gold combo with the subtle branding is exactly what I was after. I’ve got a full Titleist setup, so I didn’t want something with massive logos everywhere—this keeps it classy without screaming for attention.

What really shocked me though is how functional it is for the size. It’s a smaller, more compact stand bag, so I expected a bit of the usual headaches… but there’s basically little to no club tangle. I’m using midsize grips with a couple wraps, and it still handles them way better than I expected. The divider setup just works.

Storage is more than enough for what I need too. Range sessions, casual rounds, lessons—it fits everything without feeling bulky.

I originally wanted something a bit more low-key compared to my Premium Stand bag for everyday use, and this ended up being exactly that. Clean look, lightweight, and way more functional than it has any right to be.

If you’re on the fence about going with an S4, I’d strongly suggest pulling the trigger. I was hesitant at first, but it’s easily one of the best gear decisions I’ve made.

Can’t wait to bring it out to the short game clinic at Shaughnessy this summer.

Mon fer 4 il est défectueux le son est différent et il fait un ting quand je le frappe et quand je prend la tête du bâton d’une main et la grippe avec l’autre main je twist un peut j’attends un genre de crak je le sen en le frappant qu’il y a un problème

GTS 2 or 3 Driver

I play GT3 with tensei 1K Orange (Counter Balance) 6X shaft at the moment and one thing I love about this set up is that my misses were always to the right.

I want to order a new GTS 2 or 3 at the moment but when I test both 2 and 3, with my current shaft, I seem to have very occasional left misses and honestly i do not like hitting a draw.

To be fair, is a very nice baby draw where my tee shot wouldnt go OB or into the woods but what would I be able to do to prevent a draw

I went from a GT3 to a GTS2 and personally found the gts was much more suited for my game, but that's just me.

Staff Bag vs Mid Size Staff Bag

Any thoughts on the differences between the Titleist staff bag and the mid size? I walk 80% of the time with a push cart.

I also like to keep everything (rain gear, gloves, balls) except for umbrella in the bag.

I'm leaning towards the mid size but would like to know if there is much more pocket space/storeage than the deluxe cart bag. I have the deluxe but side apparel pockets bulge out too far.

*Will Titleist embroider our club logo and name on the bags? TT logo? Also any feedback on the difference in strap attachments is appreciated.

Glove Wear and Tear

Thought I’d share my strategy for extending the life of golf gloves. The summer heat and humidity is really tough on gloves. To extend the life I take a two pronged approach. First, I switch from an all leather glove to one that marries a full leather palm with a synthetic back. The F-J Contour is this season’s choice. Second, and most importantly, I keep 3 gloves in play at all times switching them out every 6 holes. I keep them numbered 1-3 and when not in use they hang on the side of my bag on a length of paracord as shown in the attached photo. This system really works for me. As the weather cools, I switch back to all leather gloves.

A couple of years ago, I finally decided that putting my glove into a package, after smoothing it out, worked better than hanging on the outside of the bag. Air drying seemed to dry them too much, but original packaging, or even a zip lock bag folded over but not zipped tightly, does a better job. My gloves don't get soaked too badly as I remove it after each stroke; I don't use it for putting, chipping, or short pitches, though.

John, great idea. I also rotate gloves but right now I'm only rotating gloves every round. I should switch them out at the turn. I buy the WeatherSoft gloves in the two pack and they are the best for durability in my opinion. So today I will switch the glove at the turn. Thanks for the idea.

There are some ladies and youth hats that are smaller sized but still look like the men’s hats. Give them a try.

Why doesn’t Titelist make hats for slightly larger heads. A lot of hats are to small.

If you check their line up of caps, their Tour Elite $40, go up to XL/XXL. That should fit the largest and I have had them and I wear a size 8. I do not wear caps any longer due to the hot sun here in SC. I wear Aussie and bucket hats. At my age do not need any surgery around my head. Have had enough in other places this past year.

I have a smaller head and they don’t fit me they need to make different sized hats most of their hats push down on my ears and are just generally uncomfortable to wear

I have one of those as well. You just have to be careful that the gloves are completely dry before putting them in the case. That’s why I hang them to air dry first. The L&K cases are really sweet.

BTW - I should have noted that the use of the 3 gloves is not an original idea. I read it somewhere as a way to extend glove life. I was skeptical at first, but it really does seem to work.
